Vintage Chiek: An Interview with Ruthie Collins

Let’s be real for a second here, I’ve had the chance to interview some amazing artists in the past few months.  However there has been something missing from all of those interviews.  Can you guess what it is?  Yes, it’s the WOMEN!!  Without further ado let me introduce you to Ruthie Collins.  What do you need to know about Ruthie?  She was born in New York, went to school in Boston, is as country as the day is long and is an absolute SWEETHEART.  Oh and did I mention her debut single is a cover of Hank William’s Ramblin’ Man?  Yeah, this gal is vintage with an updated spin and her style is absolutely on point.  She travels in her remodeled vintage airstream appropriately named Amelia Earstream.  On top of all this her sound is out of this world and her lyrics speak to the heart of just about every twenty-something woman out there.  Here is what Ruthie had to say about her love for all things vintage and what made her take on such a legendary song in the country world:

An Interview with Mo Pitney

The first time I heard Country by Mo Pitney I thought I was listening to a song from Randy Travis’ greatest hits.  I wondered how I had never heard this amazing classic and was sure it was from the year I was born if not before.  Imagine my surprise when I found out that not only was the song brand new, but the artist was younger than I am.  That’s right; he is 23 years old…23!!  Immediately I started looking for other music from him.  What I found was his debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry.  He sang his original song, Clean Up on Aisle Five and received a standing ovation.  The song is so beautifully sad it almost moved me to tears.  I knew I had to find out more about this young artist and what he is going to be up to next.  A week later I got the chance to chat with him on the phone during a break on his current radio promotion tour about his journey as a songwriter and what his plans are for the future.  Here’s what he had to say:
