Country’s Newest Cutie: Chris Lane

What do you do as a college athlete after two ACL surgeries?  You pursue a career as a country music singer obviously.  Well at least if you’re Chris Lane you do!  This Carolina native hit country radio with his single Broken Windshield View in June of last year.  The song is heavy in visual imagery and paints a picture for a listener of a down home good ole’ southern boy who appreciates the simple things in life and believes in putting in hard work.  After getting that chance to catch up with Chris in the middle of band rehearsals I can say embodies those traits.  Here’s what he had to say about his new sound and his possible future on The Bachelor:

Catching Up With Macy Maloy

If you listen to  The Highway on Sirius XM there’s a good chance you’ve heard this next artist.  Macy Maloy is featured on Chase Rice’s massive hit Ride (a cover of R&B/Soul Singer SoMo’s platinum single) which is currently being played on blast at the Highway.  Her vocals grab you from the first second the song starts.  Once I heard this spin on an R&B track with a country male on lead vocals and her, a singer/songwriter female joining in, I knew I needed to find out more about this artist.  Macy grew up in Texas where she was attending The University of North Texas when she posted a video on YouTube covering fellow Texans Josh Abbott Band’s single Oh Tonight for a contest.  She must have done something right because the band saw the video and from there Macy’s career has taken off.  I caught up with her as she was just getting back to Nashville after a visit back home with her family to ask her a few questions.  Here’s what she had to say:
