Venue Spotlight – Martha's Vineyard

Here at Jam Catchers it is all about the music. Sometimes the experience of a concert can really be determined by its venue. Don’t get me wrong, seeing Beyoncé live at Madison Square Garden or Beyoncé live in a shoebox is going to be amazing but every now and then you find a venue that takes the live experience to a whole other level.  Recently Citizen Cope played a show at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard.  There is something about this venue that is just magical.  It is extremely intimate and provides the perfect backdrop for a concert like this.  Dreamland is over a century old and was originally a ballroom.  It’s since been restored and is the backdrop for concerts, private events and more.  I’ve put together some images from the concert along with a few of my favorite Citizen Cope songs for you to enjoy.  What’s your favorite venue to see a concert at?  Comment below!

Summer Break Up Playlist

Each year at this time I go through a tumultuous breakup.  It happens out of no where and I’m left not having seen it coming and wondering how it even happened.  The break up I am referring to is of course my break up with summer.  It’s that inevitable weekend that we know is going to happen as soon as Memorial Day hits.  Labor Day weekend brings about the end of a summer and marks the beginning of the season of football, flannels, pumpkins and great boots.  Growing up on the shores of Cape Cod, the end of summer definitely has a greater impact on my town than others.  The streets go from being filled with people down to only the few you know by name and you no longer have to wait an hour and a half for a table at your favorite restaurant.  Gone are the days of sun, fun, swimwear and carefree taste in music.  Now that fall is in the air it’s time for some deeper tracks.  From the classic end of summer song “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley to Kenny Chesney’s “The Boys of Fall“, the perfect song to get geared up for football season, this playlist has something for everyone.  Here’s my playlist to help ease that transition from summer to fall!
