One week ago the Pandora Presents Backroads concert series raised the bar yet again with a power packed performance by Jason Aldean. The three time ACM Entertainer of the Year showed the Nashville crowd at Marathon Music Works exactly why he’s earned the title three years running. Aldean is known for putting on a rowdy show and the Pandora Presents concert was no exception. The country superstar sells out stadiums and arenas nationwide; and although this one time concert experience was a bit more intimate than that, Aldean and his band brought the same level of energy they would in a stadium.
Jason quickly let the crowd know that he would be playing as long of a set as he would on any tour stop of his. He cruised through each one of his hits from the beginning days of “Amarillo Sky”, “She’s Country” and “Big Green Tractor” to his more recent radio chart toppers like “You Make It Easy”, “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey” and “Rearview Town”. The crowd who braved the cold on the unusually wintery Nashville night was electrified from start to finish. In typical Nashville fashion, the crowd also consisted of fellow country superstars like Dustin Lynch, who could be seen enjoying the show from the sound booth.
Number one songwriter Steven Lee Olsen took the stage to kick off the night. The writer has penned hits such as “Blue Ain’t Your Color” (Keith Urban) and “More Girls Like You” (Kip Moore). Olsen proved that he is a front man himself as he belted originals off his Timing is Everything EP while seamlessly transitioning into covering Shawn Mendes hits.
Once again Pandora put on one hell of a show for their loyal country music listeners. After headliners like Brad Paisley in June and Jason Aldean in November, one can only imagine who will be up next for Pandora Presents Backroads concert series.
