The dreary days of winter are almost behind us and you know what that means? Just as the early colors of spring start to show, the summer jams are starting to peak out from the cold as if to say, “there is cold beer and warm sun in the near future”. Looking into the forecast I’m going to go ahead and call Stephen Paul’s new single “Lookin’ for Me” as one of THE songs of summer 2019.
The follow up single to Stephen’s heartfelt “Leaving Louisiana” is quite the contrast from it’s heartbreaking, breakup ballad predecessor. Stephen’s twangy vocals catch you from the first line. Everything from his tone, to the production and the lyrics (penned by Paul and Alex Smith) set the tone for a quintessential night out at your favorite honky tonk.
If the upbeat, catchy delivery from Stephen isn’t enough to get your hooked, the official video shot by Midtown Motion Productions sure will be. You might even recognize a few familiar faces in the video. Stephen’s co-writer on the track Alex Smith, alongside the gorgeous Kaylor Cox will spin and twirl their way into your heart. Seriously though, why have I never lived out an amazing couples dance like this when I’ve gone out to a bar? I’m going to go sign up for country dance lessons immediately. In the meantime if you’re lookin for a toe tapping, two steppin’, honky tonkin’ jam that is country to it’s core look no further than “Lookin’ for Me”.
